We will begin at Gary Halter Nature Center in Lick Creek Park. Topics will include regulations and ethics; safety; rods, reels, and terminal tackle; two useful fishing knots; assembling a spin cast rod and reel; freshwater fish identification/habitat/handling/measuring; equipping your tackle box; casting instruction/practice. We will make time for breaks throughout the class, so feel free to bring snacks and plenty of water.
