About this Event
Join us at our Hertel cafe in celebration of Rosh Hashanah and learn to braid Challah bread with our Baker, Courtney! ???. Participants will take home a complimentary loaf of challah bread.
Challah (pronounced haa-luh) is an egg-rich yeast-leavened bread that is usually braided or twisted before baking and is traditionally eaten by Jews on the Sabbath and holidays, and it is absolutely delicious.
Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of the Jewish New Year, is observed from October 2nd - October 4th this year. In honor of the celebration, our talented baker, Courtney, will show you how to braid challah bread! We will provide the dough and the ropes needed for braiding and each participant will get a loaf of challah to take home. Participants will also receive recipes for baking challah at home plus other recipes for serving challah, like french toast!
Participants will:
?Learn about the origins of the braided Jewish bread
?Learn about Rosh Hashanna (Jewish New Year celebration)
?Practice different braids on ropes
?Braid pre-made dough to take home and bake (instructions will be given)
?Watch a video on the various ways Challah can be braided
We can't wait to see you there!
