Bring the whole family and learn the ways of Suminagashi which means “floating ink”.
Suminagashi is an ancient art form that began over 800 years ago in Japan, where artists would gently drop ink on water and swirl it into flowing, dreamlike patterns and then transfer it to paper.
In this hands-on Creative Monsters Workshop kids + parents will:
- Learn the story of Suminagashi and discover how artists used water, ink, and patience to create magical marble like designs.
- Create your own print and learn how to create beautiful marbled patterns and transfer these designs to paper.
- Add color to your prints and place them on canvas to take home to display.
No art experience is needed — just bring your curiosity, and a monster-sized imagination.
