Step into the Mood Fabrics Atlanta Showroom for an engaging, hands-on sewing session led by Danesha Anglin! In this interactive class, you will explore the art of Sashiko, a traditional Japanese stitching technique known for its decorative geometric patterns and practical approach to repairing and strengthening fabric. Whether you want to breathe new life into worn denim, repair a small hole, reinforce a thinning area, or add a unique decorative detail to a garment, you’ll learn how to combine creativity and functionality through hand stitching.

What You’ll Do

• Learn about the basics of traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching.
• Practice foundational hand-stitching techniques and learn how to create even and consistent stitches.
• Explore how to use Sashiko stitching to mend worn areas, reinforce fabric, and extend the life of your garments.
• Learn how to transfer and stitch simple geometric patterns to create decorative details.

What to Bring

Please bring one garment you would like to mend or customize, such as a denim jacket, jeans, shirt, or other woven-fabric garment. A small hole, worn area, or blank space for decorative stitching is a great place to start. All necessary sewing tools and Sashiko supplies, including needles, thread, and practice materials, will be provided for the workshop.

Class Registration & Cancellation Policy

Refunds for the ticket price are available for cancellations made up to 24 hours before the event start time. Please note that Eventbrite’s service fees are non-refundable, so you will receive a partial refund equal to the ticket amount minus those fees.
