About this Event
Join Crys Harse for an engaging three-hour workshop where you'll learn the art of rush weaving by creating your very own stool from beautiful sea grass! This hands-on experience invites you to explore a traditional seat weaving technique that can be adapted to various materials.
In this workshop, you will receive a locally made oak stool frame and dive into the intricacies of weaving with twisted seagrass. While rush weaving has its roots in organic materials like bullrush or cattail, we will use pre-twisted natural seagrass as a wonderful alternative, ensuring your stool retains an authentic vintage feel.
Whether you're a seasoned weaver or a complete beginner, this class is designed to be relaxing and enjoyable. Don't worry if you're new to this craft; Crys Harse will provide guidance and support as you navigate the weaving process.
Come and embrace the heritage craft of rush weaving! Enjoy the satisfaction of creating something beautiful and functional. Bring your creativity, and let's make some rustic art together!
This workshop is for 16 +
Location: Treehouse, 4th Floor, cSPACE - Marda Loop
