LEAP are on the verge, in every sense of the word. Bubbling with anticipation, whether it’s the palpable energy at their explosive sold out shows across the UK and Europe, or landing in Shazam’s top 50 viral playlist, there is a growing sense of impending rumble. Fronted by one of the most captivating, natural-born front-men in recent years, Jack Scott’s bi-polar disorder only adds to a raucous world in perpetual boiling point. Born and raised between Edinburgh and Cape Town, as well as studying at music school in Brighton, Jack’s internationally diverse background has now bled into the music he creates with the band - an eclectic mix of rock n roll misfits. On drums, the multi-instrumental bisexual-budhist sensation Hector Cottam. Having grown up together in Scotland, Jack and Hector formed an unbreakable bond from the age of four.
Slapping the bass guitar - Declan “BullsEye” Brown - forged in the fires of Johannesburg and battle hardened in the rock scene of Camden. He had a chance encounter with Jack at iconic music venue The Hawley Arms and they bonded over their fancy for cheap denim attire.
Completing the musical equation was the introduction of a young, fair-haired Jedi in the form of Adam Mason. A deeply talented and classically trained guitarist that’s really helped bring the LEAP sound to life. Adam tasted the limelight dancing on various TV shows as a child and now, at just 22, he has already performed in front of thousands across Europe with various projects.
2021 saw the real formation of LEAP, stepping up and out of the world of DIY releasing into a more ambitious, more refined sonic palette where they can comfortably compete with some of the biggest indie-rock acts around. Including single "Energies" praised to be an "anthemic mosh pit starter”.
Darker and yet still extremely accessible, their 6 track debut EP “1 Million Pieces” (June 2022) is a thumping statement of intent. Undeniable chorus hooks laced with rock and roll induced extremes, Jack’s unique vocals take you on a journey through London’s twisted underbelly and his own struggles with mental health. EP 2 “Dark Habits” (Nov 2023) saw the band’s first radio hit in Italy with “Exit Signs”, which led to over 50,000 Shazams in the space of 2 months, as well as lifting the band’s catalog to well over 4m streams across platforms. With extensive editorial support across DSPs, as well as support from Rolling Stone, MTV, Virgin Radio, Flux FM, Earmilk, its all indie, fame magazine, BBC Radio6, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, LEAP are rapidly approaching undeniable status in the UK and Europe’s thriving rock scene.
With sold out shows across the UK and Europe and over 10,000 tickets on sale in 2024, as well as main-stage slot at Nova Rock, it’s the reaction to the band’s explosive live show that is driving a highly-engaged, ever-growing international fanbase. Bringing a mixture of indie grunge guitars, hard-hitting percussion and the odd sprinkle of electronica to a collection of eccentric, arresting individuals, LEAP is a band on the verge of making major commercial waves.
