About this Event
Each quarter, we host an informational issues session for our constituents (fundholders, donors and grantees, as well as community leaders) about the current landscape in our various grantmaking cycles. Our next Community Issues Session, which corresponds with our Arts & Culture cycle, will feature University of Akron President Gary Miller, and his wife, Georgia Nix Miller, as well as Howard Parr, executive director of the Akron Civic Theater, who will discuss the AkronArts Initiative, a bold new plan that the University of Akron will help lead, expected to usher in a new era of art and culture for Akron and beyond. The AkronArts plan embraces and enhances arts on the University of Akron campus and in Greater Akron to enrich, empower and enliven our community. The session will take place Thursday, April 28, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the brand new Knight Stage in downtown Akron. The event also will include a Q&A, and refreshments will be served.
* PARKING: Nearby parking includes the O'Neil’s Parking Deck on 52 West State Street, and the Akron Centre Parking Deck (11 West Mill St.), which can also be accessed from Quaker Street. Also, a surface lot is located on West Bowery Street behind the Civic Theatre.
