A local-led journey through the Barbican's immersive "In Other Worlds", turning futuristic thinking into leadership learning.
About this Event

In Other Worlds closes on 6 September: this is one of the last chances to experience it this way.

This is not a gallery tour. It is a curated journey through one of the best exhibitions in London right now, turning what the work provokes into something more useful: imagination, dialogue, and direction.

In Other Worlds is an immersive experience by BAFTA-nominated director and speculative architect Liam Young. Across six possible futures, it confronts the climate crisis we are already living through, melting ice, rising seas, carbon pulled from the sky, and asks a harder question than dystopia does: what if the future could actually be hopeful, and what would it take to build it?

That question does not stay in the gallery. Every organisation is working towards some version of the future, whether or not anyone has said out loud what it is. Most leadership teams are circling that question without naming it. The exhibition names it for you, which is why it turns out to be such a good room to think in.

If you spend your days on climate, sustainability, systems change, or simply on leading something through a period where the ground keeps moving, you will know how rare it is to step back and feel the bigger picture rather than fight the next fire. That is what this afternoon offers.

We begin at 4pm, late enough to slip out of the office or your last session of the day. You will move through the exhibition with a London-based leadership educator who works with leaders and teams on culture, systems and change, alongside a small group wrestling with the same questions. Then we gather on the Barbican Terrace for a facilitated dialogue that turns provocation into direction.

You will leave the Barbican with:

  • Clearer perspectives on the forces reshaping your world
  • Practical questions to take back to your team
  • New connections with people thinking seriously about the same things

To close, around 5.45pm, you are warmly invited to carry the conversation into the evening at the Barbican's Martini Bar, one of London's better happy hours, and a fitting way to round off the day.

This is for leaders, climate and sustainability professionals, social innovators, creatives, and anyone who wants an experience that lands differently than another tour or panel. Whether you are a curious Londoner or you have been meaning to see this exhibition all summer, you are most welcome.

FYI for teams

I also run this as a closed session for a single leadership team or board, either standalone or as the opening of a larger collaboration with LEGO Serious Play. Message me and we can shape it around what your team is actually working through as summer moves into autumn.
