Join us for our Leadership Speakers Series, featuring Helen Wesley, President & Chief Executive Officer, Peoples Gas.

Helen Wesley began leading Peoples Gas in December 2021, overseeing a diverse team responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to over 500,000 homes and businesses across Florida. In addition to serving homes, businesses and industrial customers, Peoples Gas provides the natural gas used to support the resiliency and reliability of the electricity grid and is a leader in sustainable energy solutions.

Helen’s more than 30 years’ experience in the energy industry has spanned: regulated and unregulated generation, transmission, and distribution; upstream and downstream oil and gas; commodity chemicals and pipelines. She has worked throughout North America as well as internationally in a variety of senior strategic and operational leadership positions.

Prior to joining Peoples Gas, Helen was Chief Financial Officer for ENMAX Corporation where she served as Executive Vice President of Finance and Information Technology. Additionally, Helen was a director with a public, global midstream gas processing company for nine years.

She is a member of the Tampa Bay Partnership Board of Governors, serves on the board of directors for the Southern Gas Association and is a trustee for the University of Tampa. She also holds membership in CEOs Against Cancer and is part of Leadership Florida Executive Class 12.

Helen earned her Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Calgary, and her Master of Business Administration in International Business from Bentley College in Boston. She also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and a director’s designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

The Leadership Speaker Series is dedicated to bringing outstanding leaders from the private, government and nonprofit sectors to campus to discuss business topics and corporate strategies with students, faculty, alumni and members of the community. Leaders candidly share their experiences, discuss challenges, which have impacted their leadership development and provide advice to aspiring leaders.
