It promises to be a magical evening.
A Brussels-born actress, Natacha Régnier is one of those artists who have made a rapid ascent to success. It took her no more than three years to make a name for herself with La vie rêvée des anges (Best Actress at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival, Best Actress at the 1998 European Awards and César for Best New Actress in 1999).
She then embarked on a series of film shoots, often supporting leading roles. Natacha Régnier alternates between first films and works by established directors. With a predilection for very personal worlds, such as those of Luc Bondy, Eugene Green and Jane Birkin, she has also worked with Chantal Akerman and Lucas Belvaux. Emmanuel Bourdieu, Costa Gavras. She has also acted under the direction of Giacomo Campiotti, François Ozon and Anne Fontaine.
Since 2008, Natacha has been cast in a number of major theatre roles. She can also be seen in TV films and series. She recently appeared in Tu ne tueras point by Leslie Gwinner and will be appearing in Avignon 2024 at La Scala Provence in Pannonica papillon du Jazz by Gérard Savoisien.
This reading, followed by an open-air screening, is part of a major exhibition of Chantal Akerman's work at Bozar until 21 July. From the start of her career, the filmmaker has always enjoyed exploring the mundane details of ordinary life with clarity and a strong feminist sensibility. She has made over 40 films and created several art installations. Her best-known work is the avant-garde classic Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Brussels (1975).
