𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗟𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗧:
The young artists of Le Consort approach the violin trio sonata genre with dancing energy, a fresh ear, and the excitement in discovery of a new favorite band. Evident in this ensemble’s upbeat style is its exploratory love of the Baroque style of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and an appreciation of building musical ornamentation.
A performance by Le Consort is like a journey through England and Europe, examining the various styles of violin trio sonatas. “We have the feeling as an ensemble that it’s a repertoire that sometimes is a bit neglected,” says harpsichordist Justin Taylor.
