LCL WRAAP 2025-2026: An Iditarod AdventureDecember 20, 2025 - March 7, 2026
The Winter Reading and Activity Program (WRAAP) is back! This year we’re heading to Alaska!
Travel along the official Iditarod Trail from Anchorage to Nome as you read this winter! All community members can participate.
Here’s how it works:
1. Register for WRAAP 2025-2026:
-Pre-registration opens December 1, 2025 on the ReadSquared website or app
-Paper registration forms available at the Main Library & Broadway Branch
-Pick up a special LCL drawstring backpack when you register while supplies last!
2. Track Your Reading:
-Tracking begins December 20 and ends March 7
-Every 1 minute read = 1 mile traveled on the trail
-Log reading digitally in ReadSquared or with a paper tracker
3. Reach Checkpoints & Earn Prizes:
-Move checkpoint to checkpoint across Alaska
-Earn digital badges and collect physical “checkpoint buttons” at each major location
-Complete the 975 mile trail and earn a special 2025-26 WRAAP magnet!
4. Keep an eye on the trail:
Visit the Main Library circulation desk to watch our interactive community progress map and see how far Lee County has mushed!
Plus, enjoy Iditarod-themed programs, activities, and book displays all winter long at the library! Bundle up, grab a book, and let’s mush our way to Nome, one story at a time!
