LCF After Dark: Collective Care

Visit LCF, UAL at East Bank after dark for an evening exploring the connections between textiles and wellbeing.

Free creative workshops, wellness activities, performances and exhibitions will explore the calming power of textiles, mindfulness practices and the art of building creative communities.

At the heart of the event is a Knit-In; a warm, communal space where participants of all skill levels can come together to knit, patchwork, stitch, and crochet. Bring your own projects or use the free materials provided, with LCF students and staff, local makers and artists on hand to guide you through new techniques and ideas.

Other workshops throughout the evening will include a repair circle bring your own clothes to mend or learn new repair techniques, mindful techniques for creative minds and a somatic dance workshop. Throughout the evening there will be live harp music and dance performances.

There will be free refreshments available at the start of the event.

This event is free to attend and open to all. Please note that some of the workshops will be ticketed as capacity is limited, sign up on arrival.

The event will begin at 6pm, visitors are welcome to drop-in between 6-9pm. This is a guestlist event, say your name at the door upon your arrival for entry.

If you are arriving via Stratford Station, please follow the PURPLE ROUTE and walk towards the London Aquatics Centre and when you reach Sadler’s Wells on your right, turn right onto the public realm (Sadler’s Wells is still on the right-hand side) towards our East Bank campus.

If you are arriving from Stratford International, please follow the BLUE ROUTE and then merge onto the PURPLE ROUTE towards the London Aquatics Centre and when you reach Sadler’s Wells on your right, turn right along the public realm (Sadler’s Wells is still on the right-hand side) towards our East Bank campus.

If you are arriving from Hackney Wick, please follow the RED ROUTE down Carpenter’s Road, crossing Carpenter’s Road Lock and then over Tallow Bridge which leads directly onto LCF UAL’s waterfront entrance on the mezzanine level.

If you are arriving by car please ask taxis to drop you off at the LCF East Bank building.
