MEMS Info Session
3:30-5 p.m., June 17
SMART Commercialization Center, SM140
The MEMS associate degree and Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Microelectronic Manufacturing at LCCC prepare students for careers in electronic hardware manufacturing, prototyping, design, development, and repair/rework. If you’ve heard of a “motherboard,” this is where students learn how to build, manufacture, design, and repair them. With companies like Intel expanding in Ohio, students are also trained to manufacture microchips and work in cleanroom environments.
Both degrees emphasize strong career placement through internships, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities while enrolled. LCCC has offered the MEMS associate degree since 2013 and launched Ohio’s first community college Bachelor of Applied Science in this field in 2018. The programs are hands-on and developed in partnership with more than 80 local microelectronics industry partners.
This info session includes live demonstrations of electronic assembly while answering questions related to degree content as well as career placement. To register, visit lorainccc.edu/mems.
