About this Event
Join Liberty City Arts on Sunday, January 25 at The Perch, Philly’s hub for community, culture, and accessible art, for Bright Eyed Joy: A Celebration of Black Voices, Music, and Community. Curated by artistic advisor Brandon Bell, this program insists on joy as an inheritance, a brightness that refuses to be dimmed. In claiming this title, the recital affirms that when Black voices sing freely, they offer not only truth but a radiant hope that lights the room from within
The program is presented in two showings of the same recital:
- 4:00–7:00 PM — ticket includes access to the 6pm reception with food, drinks, and conversation
- 6:00–11:00 PM — ticket includes the 6pm reception plus an exclusive after-hours celebration with DJ and drinks (!)
The following Philly-based artists will bring the program to life:
- Teddy Balfour-Austin, tenor
- Jay Fluellen, pianist
- Malcolm Richardson, countertenor
- Chase Sanders, soprano
- Moses Possible, baritone
Tickets:
- Early Light Tier, 4-7pm: $25
- Afterglow Tier + Post-Show, 6:00-11pm: $35
Come explore, listen, and celebrate the power of Black voices in music—where joy, hope, and community shine bright.
