Join us for a free evening of creativity, reflection, and self-expression through journaling and mixed media art.
Hosted in partnership with NAMI Northern Illinois and The Scrap Jar, participants will explore journaling as a tool for mindfulness, emotional processing, stress reduction, and personal growth.
Through guided prompts and a variety of creative materials, participants will create a personalized journal page using writing, collage, imagery, color, and mixed media techniques. Many of the materials used will be repurposed and creatively reused, reflecting The Scrap Jar's mission of giving materials a second life through art and creativity. Participants are also welcome to bring their own supplies or photos if they would like to utilize additional journaling supplies, but is not required.
Whether you're new to journaling or have an established practice, this workshop is designed to meet you where you are. There is no right or wrong way to participate; just an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and create in a supportive environment.
Participants will:
- Learn about the benefits of journaling and creative reflection
- Explore mixed media and collage techniques
- Choose from guided reflection prompts
- Create a personalized journal page to take home
- Leave with a journal to continue their creative practice
All materials, snacks, and water will be provided at the workshop.
