This workshop experience is coming together in layers of transformation ! A Painting & Meditation immersionThis workshop will begin with a meditation of self, an excavation of uncovering layers of emotional baggage. Followed by moments of journaling, doodling, writing what bubbled forward & will flow to the creative layers of emotional transformation. Creating a Soulful messy, mindful creative canvas - that only you know the secrets it holds.
Dress for painting - everything included but feel free to bring own brushes, markers, meaningful quotes, pictures thoughts

It has been years & I mean many years since I have picked up my paint brushes. Art was my safe space even into my college years, I even had an Art Professor “fail” me because I finished my projects quickly, received nothing less than an A, but could not spend a lot of time in my “studio hours”, because my Lab hours, (specifically my Genetics and Radiation Biology required specific time studies) - He wanted me to change my major & focus on my art - I had an Academic Faculty meeting scheduled to have my grade changed to what I earned. I did send him a copy of my Fluorescent Autoimmune Disease Patterns on HeP-2 cells & Mouse Kidney/Mouse Stomach substrate (MK/MS) Training manual illustrations when published! I had many wonderful opportunities to explore art, i was accepted when 12 into the beginnings of the Governor’s School of the Arts in Harrisburg (due to my age & family issues I was not able to fully attend), when 13 I was selected to attend the Summer Intenstive Art Program in York and did get to attend for 2 weeks not the full month (another issue with family lol) - but the Art pulled me thru, i always had a sketch pad, but loved the the way you could get lost in painting, but with painting you do need space (unlike a sketchbook you can carry) - my easel for awhile was in our basement but at time it was not finished or heated. And slowly it drifted it away - the itch always remained. Sketching helped, paint nights helped, collage-ing & Nature mandalas helped - but nothing soothed like that canvas on your easel evolving each time you had time to add, add a layer of what life gave you that day, even if it was just a flick of the brush as you walked by - I still remember a day of emotions around 1979 when my little easel was still up - with still life of Sunflowers started (i even remember a “running” drop of paint from one petal that I did not correct, because it reminded me of a tear, a tear i needed to cry but did not) I think i was on way to do laundry & stopped, put my laundry basket down, walked to canvas, painted my thumb “raw ochre” and pressed it into canvas! Not sure why, but it needed to be done - wish i still had that silly little canvas but it is long gone!!
I write this because this new journey life has dealt has gifted me the memories of how younger me survived steps of life through art, not the masterpieces that hang in museums or gallery’s - but the ones that smolder in our souls for release, and when added layer upon layer become our masterpiece of Life, the one only we can see & understand its story!
So join me as I piece together this workshop for both You & Me as we allow ourselves freedom to express our emotional layers in vivid reality!
