Convert your lawn into a native plant landscape and learn how to become a local habitat steward! Learn about native plants and how to attract birds and pollinators, while adding beauty to your garden!
Join the Adopt A Stream Foundation community and native plant specialist and community wildlife habitat steward Julie O'Donald at the Northwest Stream Center Saturday September 27th at 1PM for this Streamkeeper Academy Class "Lawns to Native Plant Landscapes".
This class will cover; native plants and native pollinators, how to remove lawn and convert it into native plant landscape, and how to create wildlife habitat in your gardens. It will provide you with the information needed to create an attractive garden that invites birds, butterflies, hummingbirds and more.
Learn which native plants work well in transforming a garden into a beautiful landscape alive with birds and pollinators. Learn beneficial garden practices and find out which native plants can turn your garden into a relaxing and welcoming space. Take home plant lists will be included!
Julie’s personal certified wildlife habitat garden contains over 200 species of native plants and has been successfully attracting birds, butterflies, pollinators, and beneficial insects for more than 25 years. It has been featured in Pacific Horticulture and The Butterfly Gardener magazines, as well as the book, Butterfly Gardening: The North American Butterfly Association Guide, 2018. She volunteers here at the Northwest Stream Center leading a dedicated group of volunteers who help AASF manage and nurture our Native Wetland Plant Pollinator Meadow. She is also an active volunteer with the Washington Native Plant Society, the Washington Butterfly Association, Kruckeberg Botanic Garden, and the National Wildlife Federation.
