Lavender and Flaxseed Eye Pillow with Paper Houses Design

Join designer Mhairi Allan, aka Paper Houses Design, at the Greyhope Bay Centre in this relaxing workshop, where you will give a second life to waste fabrics by creating a stunning lavender and flaxseed eye pillow - perfect for yoga or resting tired eyes.

About this workshop

You will be led through hand-stitching techniques to join patched fabrics into an eye pillow design. The technique you learn can be transferred to exploring hand-sewing garments later too. You will add personalisation to your project by exploring some embroidery techniques to decorate your fabric before you make your lavender and flax eye pillow. Fabrics will be supplied however if you have a fabric/old top/cushion that you love but is no longer suited for its purpose then bring that along to make your creation even more special!

About the Artist:

Paper Houses Design aka Mhairi Allan is a textiles studio creating lifestyle products that connect people with their homes, themselves and their well-being. Inspiration for designs come from the everyday, overlooked, mundane and often thought of as harsh elements, like a brutalist staircase or phone wires. Consciously designing sustainable homewares and fashion accessories with a luxury feel through combining modern technology and traditional techniques. Mhairi shares her love of textiles through product and workshops.
