NLMS librarian Laurie Deredita will be our speaker when the JIBBOOM CLUB#1 meets on Tuesday, October 19, at 1:30 PM.
Laurie Deredita will give a short talk about the Merrimac Journal Transcription Project followed by questions and comments from the audience. The Merrimac manuscript, containing journal entries from two whaling voyages, was given to the Maritime Society in August 2020 and the crowdsourced transcription project took place in early 2021. Laurie is the librarian at the Maritime Society and the coordinator and editor of the project. The Journal itself will be on display.
JIBBOOM CLUB #1 meets the third Tuesday of the month. Join us for a presentation and refreshments.
