About this Event
Waterstones Liverpool are delighted to welcome Lauren Elkin as she joins us to discuss her sensational debut novel Scaffolding
The celebrated author of Art Monsters and Flaneuses brings us a blazing debut novel of ghosts, homes and the cycle of history, as two couples who inhabit the same apartment in north-east Paris almost fifty years apart discover their worrying similarities. Scaffolding is about the bonds we create with people, and the difficulty of ever fully severing them; about the ways that people we’ve known live on in us; and about the way that the homes we make hold communal memories of the people who’ve lived in them and the stories that have been told there.
Lauren will be in conversation with Andy Miller.
Andy Miller is a reader, editor and author of books, including The Year of Reading Dangerously (4th Estate). He also co-hosts the award-winning literary podcast Backlisted.
