Laura Mann
Laura Mann has seen the music business from both sides of the stage. As a singer-songwriter who has also been the owner/curator of an award-winning live music venue, she has managed to maintain the delicate balance between artist and entrepreneur by holding steadfast to one idea: It’s all about the music.Born to a musical family in Syracuse, NY, Laura was reading music and playing guitar by the age of eight, and after moving to New Jersey, she had already begun appearing in her first professional bands as a teenager. It was at that time that she decided she wanted to focus on building a solo career and started writing, recording, and performing her own songs. In her development as an artist, Laura has worked closely with seasoned musical professionals such as Robert Hazard, Eric Bazilian, and Dan Navarro to hone her craft and establish her career as a singer-songwriter. Her collaborations in the studio with industry heavy-hitters like Phil Nicolo, Charlton Pettus, Vernon Reid, Mitch Goldfarb, and Scot Sax have resulted in the successful release of multiple albums and singles. In her onstage career, Laura has appeared on TV talent show Star Search, the SXSW Festival, and NPR’s Mountain Stage, and has shared the stage with music legends Warren Zevon, Dave Mason and Ronnie Spector.
In 2018, she threw her hat into the ring as an entrepreneur, opening her first live music venue, The Living Room, in the Philadelphia suburb of Ardmore, PA. From its inception, The Living Room was embraced by artists and audiences alike as a premier Philadelphia-area venue, awarded Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly” award for Best Small Music Venue in 2019 and Main Line Today magazine’s award for “Best of the Main Line and Western Suburbs” award for Unique Live Music Venue in 2020. In 2022, The Living Room relocated and expanded its reach, with increased seating to accommodate national touring acts and the addition of the Cricket Cafe, featuring Laura’s famous homemade cakes and desserts. After six years of operating The Living Room, Laura missed having the time to write and perform her own music, and spend more time with family and loved ones. Since closing The Living Room in late April 2024, she has been traveling across the country with her dogs Coco and Casey, and spending time in southern California writing and recording new material with longtime collaborators Dan Navarro and Charlton Pettus, among others. She will return to Ardmore in April 2025 to headline a show there that will also feature some special and surprise guests.Whether onstage or offstage, as a singer-songwriter, recording artist, presenter, live performer or entrepreneur, through it all Laura Mann has maintained one constant: It’s all about the music. Laura Mann’s music can be found on iTunes, Amazon and anywhere that music is streamed.
