Celebrate the tenth annual Central Wisconsin Book Festival with this one-night event designed for readers and writers alike! Enjoy a poetry showcase, try your hand at using vintage typewriters, and enjoy free food at The Wausau Club as we kick off a weekend of memorable literary events.
Each year, the CWBF celebrates the written word in our own historically and culturally rich community. As we mark 10 years of this festival, we invite you and other poets to share your love of reading and writing in a poetry showcase at our launch party. Adults & teens are invited to submit a poem fitting the theme: “Why do we read? Why do we write?” Click here for poetry showcase details.
You don’t need to submit a poem to join in on the festivities! Enjoy free appetizers and drinks available for purchase as we take a look back at 10 years of festival history and hear original works from local poets. And, in the spirit of celebrating the history of the written word, try out a vintage typewriter loaded with fresh paper. Just add words! Find your community and celebrate a shared joy of the written word as we kick off a weekend of memorable festivities.
