Reflecting Surfaces explores the shifting boundary between portraiture and still life, where figures and objects exist within the same charged field of presence. In Eric Kaiser’s paintings, faces rendered in deliberately unnatural tones evoke states of introspection and quiet withdrawal, while silver jugs seem almost animate, capturing and distorting the world around them.
