About the Presenters:

The Raíz program with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan is a community organizing and leadership development initiative that works in partnership with Latinx communities across Michigan to expand access to health care and build collective power.

Raíz believes that when Latino communities are equipped with culturally relevant information, leadership opportunities, and organizing tools, they can build the power needed to shape policies, expand access to care, and defend their rights. By investing in community-led organizing—through education, storytelling, civic engagement, and advocacy—Raíz strengthens long-term power at the local, electoral, and legislative levels. This, in turn, leads to more equitable health outcomes and ensures that those most impacted are leading the fight for reproductive freedom and justice.
