Latin@xé Artists ATX Celebrate Each Other

Inviting Latina, Latino, Latinx, Latiné Artists of the ATX to gather/convivir to celebrate one another and where we are in our artistic journeys.

Perhaps you just booked a gig, or had your first exhibit, or you’ve decided to take a break and regroup. We are here for it and we want to hear it.

There are three parts to our convivio:

Celebrating Each Other

During our time together, we will go around the circle and share the spotlight so that you can brag, yes brag! about where you are in your artistic journey and we will celebrate you with aplausos and good-feel sounds. You could say “I showed up,” and we will “wooo” and applaud.

Feeling Inspired

Our special guest for our upcoming convivio is Nancy Flores. Perhaps you’ve tuned into 90.5 KUT Radio and have heard an episode of Austin Cultura. Si, that’s her! Come meet her and walk away with some sabiduría (wisdom) from her years of following her heart. Here is more about Nancy: An award-winning local journalist, Nancy Flores leads Austin Vida as its editor and publisher. She’s the founder of Cultura Media, Austin Vida’s umbrella organization, and was recently named one of “Austin’s Top Latina Entrepreneurs to Watch,” by the digital news outlet Austonia (now called ATXtoday).

Connecting

In some places, they call it networking. But our goal goes beyond exchanging Instagram or LikedIn handles. It is about affirming our sense of belonging to this city, this state, this bigger landscape of Latina, Latino, Latinx, Latiné Artists mustering everyday the valentía (courage) to explore and/or express who we are and what we are here to say through our art. It is about coming together to walk away feeling connected.
