LATE TRAINING in FREEZONE - Tuesdays 18.00h-20.00hđź’Ą
We invite you to come train with us on an advanced/professional level! Looking to keep up your training and deepen your skills? This is the place for you. Each Tuesday from 18.00h to 20.00h a teacher will share their practice. Every 6 weeks the program will change and a new teacher will be there to learn from!

Late Training with KATIA BENBELKACEM

Originally from Alès, Katia owes her eclectic training to Epsedanse, Mondap’art, and Cobosmika, three dance houses where she will shape her tools as a future artist.
With her teaching diploma in hand, she founded the Cie PrÄk in 2012 with 4 pieces in the repertoire today.
"My work is inevitably marked by a biographical dimension; how can one create an echo in the lives of others through their own story? This is the challenge I have set for myself through collaborations, with the rigorous rule of ensuring the accessibility of proposals, between dance and theater. While putting detailed, brutal, and symbol-laden dance at the service of an engaged, feminist, political discourse, I seek above all to question the audience about the modern world."
In 2018, she became the performer of "Welcome home" a solo created by Priska Gloanec. That same year, Katia co-directed with Chloé Dupeyrat the short film "Ô" which has won about fifteen awards at international festivals.
Katia is fully committed to her role as a teacher; Present in amateur, school, and professional pathways, she is regularly invited to various places in France and Europe (Micadanses, INM, Jeune Ballet Désoblique, Kari Tanz-Haus (Germany), Centre de création chorégraphique du Luxembourg, CobosMika, Freezone, Varium, Area (Spain), etc.
In Montpellier, the city where she has been living for a few years, Katia is working on developing various projects; In 2019, she created the training "la Classe du Matin" and the "Collectif Les Essentiels", offering her services to emerging artists. She also works alongside choreographer Didier Théron and, more recently, Yann Lheureux.
Currently, Katia is working on a new creative project with dancer Jonathan Sanchez called “Love me tender”.
