Last Farm in ReykjavikBrandon Moran (Dir), 90 minutes, USA / Iceland, North American Premiere
Director/Co-Creator/DP/Editor Brandon Moran, Producer/Co-Creator Producer Scott Pierce, and Producer Joshua Cozzo in attendance.
Last Farm in Reykjavik explores the life of Gunnþór Sigurðsson, a punk rocker turned museum docent. The film navigates his personal journey from a curious farm boy to a cultural relic, set against Iceland's brief but explosive punk era (1978–1982).
Through archival footage, photography, first-person testimony, and unexpected humor, the documentary interweaves three narratives: Gunnthor's confrontation with his past, the rise and fall of the Icelandic punk scene, and the curious establishment of the Icelandic Punk Museum in a repurposed public toilet. It delves into themes of rebellion, memory, and aging without compromising one's ideals. Ultimately, Gunnthor faces a choice: remain a symbol of the past or embrace a future rooted in family and self-forgiveness.
