There’s no LASCON Badge Game this year, but the QR code on your badge still leads to a challenge.
Join the SecureFlag Secure Coding Tournament at LASCON 2026: a live, hands-on competition where you hunt down real vulnerabilities in code and fix them for points. Open to every attendee.
When: Opens at the start of Day 1, Thursday, October 29. Closes at midday on Friday, October 30.
Where: Tournament base camp at the SecureFlag booth, by the Business Center. Play from anywhere at the venue on your laptop.
Who: Every LASCON attendee, whether you write code every day or review it.
How it works
Each tournament lab drops you into a vulnerable application running in your browser. To solve it, you work through three stages:
- Identify: Spot the security issue.
- Locate: Track down the vulnerable code.
- Fix: Remediate the vulnerability.
Every lab you solve earns points, and the leaderboard updates as people play. The highest score when the tournament closes wins.
Didn’t crack it first time? You can relaunch any lab with the Try Again? button for as long as the tournament is live. Each attempt after the first carries a 10% points penalty, so accuracy counts as much as speed.
How to join
Register here on Eventbrite.
Visit the SecureFlag Capture the Flag base camp for login details.
Log in and click Tournaments in the left-hand menu, then open the LASCON 2026 tournament.
Pick a lab, click Start Lab, and start fixing.
Between talks? Grab a seat in the Red Oak Ballroom or anywhere else at the venue and keep playing on your laptop.
