Please join us at the Las Positas College Literary Arts Festival for all of the above and more on Saturday, May 10th, from 9:30 AM -6:00 PM at Las Positas College's Mertes Center for the Arts, Building 4000.
All events are free and held in person. Registration is encouraged for attendance as events often fill up. You are welcome to register for as many events as you like, but please do not sign up for two or more events happening at the same time. Event times are listed on the registration page. Click "Get Tickets" to register. Tickets are limited and events are filling up, so please don't wait!
The festival will feature speakers, panels, and workshops, and is free to the public. Events include workshops in fiction and nonfiction writing, slam poetry, and publishing; the 22nd annual LPC Poetry Slam; and the publication ceremony for Havik, Las Positas College's award-winning journal of arts & literature.
Special guests include keynote speaker Thrity Umrigar, Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket), Julia Arce, Tamim Ansary, Yue Xu, Julie Krafchik, Michelle Cruz Gonzales, Steve Budd, Deema Shehabi, Speak Easy Poetry's Bri & Tri, Peggy Schimmelman, Gabi Myers, Aaliya Nitoto, and Sarah Cain.
