Enjoy an incredible acoustic music performance of the Jewish Rockers of the 60s and 70s with Larry & Mindy, who will join us all the way from the Galilee mountains in Israel! The concert will take place at Congregation Bet Ha'am, doors open at 6:30 pm for refreshments, and the show will begin at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 18. Childcare is available from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. If you would like to request childcare for members of your family, please email Jeremy with their name(s) and age(s) at [email protected] no later than Friday February 28th.Larry Fogel was born in Miami and immigrated to Israel with his family at the age of 12. He fell in love with the guitar at the age of 11, and taking to the piano as well, developed his talent on both instruments. Larry's affection for folk music began in 3rd grade literature class, when he was taught one of Simon & Garfunkel's tunes - "Feelin' Groovy". During his mandatory military service in the Israeli Air Force he always had his guitar ready for social entertainment. (During basic training, a rumor spread that he was Paul Simon’s younger brother – and everyone believed it was true!)
Mindy Fogel was born in New York and moved to Florida when she was 10 years old. She immigrated to Israel on her own at the age of 19. From the age of 14 till she immigrated to Israel, she was a lead singer in a Jewish music group that performed all over the USA and Canada. Mindy grew up listening to Simon & Garfunkel, Judy Collins, Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel, the Beatles and many more. She was also a member of a local Israeli theatre group.
Larry & Mindy met in January 2006, and since then they’ve been happily performing all over Israel and abroad (including at the prestigious Isle of Wight Festival in the UK in June 2008) doing various shows, especially covering the wonderful songs of the 60's and 70's. They also have two CDs featuring their own original songs, “Two Hearts One Beat” (May 2007), and “EBTB” (May 2009). Larry & Mindy were lovingly married in May 2009. They live happily in the beautiful Galilee mountains, in the dream house that they built alongside their gorgeous organic garden, together with their cat "K.C." (short for "Kitty Cat").
