LARC: Crossing the Advanced Border (Listening / Speaking)
About this Event
Description:
After digging into our diagnostic grid data, this session zeroes in on students working to cross from Intermediate into Advanced, focusing on listening and speaking. This one is especially relevant for instructors teaching 200-level classes — as well as those teaching 300-level classes, since a subset of students coming home from missions still need to strengthen the advanced floor.
We want to hear what's actually working in your classroom — the activities and strategies that have genuinely helped students break through at this stage. Plan to trade ideas with colleagues teaching the same levels.
Troy will follow with a look at what it actually takes to reach Advanced, walking through the ACTFL major-level criteria as laid out in the 2024 revised Proficiency Guidelines.
