Participants in the Carving Class will learn how to select and prepare both soft and hard stones suitable for carving. This includes the use of grinding, sanding and polishing tools and machines specifically designed for carving both soft rocks (e.g., soapstone) and hard semi-precious stones (e.g., agates). Each student will create either a small animal, floral, free-form or spearhead carving.
Note: Lapidary-101 is a prerequisite for this stone carving class.
