WHERE COZINESS MEETS VIRTUOSITY
Daniel Montes, founding member of the renowned Brazilian group Casuarina, Lionel Ziblat, composer-arranger (for the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina) and former leader of the progressive rock band Modest Midget, and Mariano Gonzalez, PhD in Musicology & Linguistics and percussionist, will be representing the 'Amstel Choro' collective.
The three musicians will bring to Brussels this vibrant and intimate Brazilian tradition deeply rooted in European Classical music and rich African influences. Choro is a captivating fusion of skill, structure, swing, and improvisation that emerged in Brazil in the 19th century, decades before Jazz appeared in the US.

Daniel Montes, membre fondateur du célèbre groupe brésilien Casuarina, Lionel Ziblat, compositeur-arrangeur (pour l'Orchestre du Concertgebouw, l'Orchestre symphonique national d'Argentine) et ancien leader du groupe de rock progressif Modest Midget, et Mariano Gonzalez, docteur en musicologie et linguistique et percussionniste, représenteront le collectif 'Amstel Choro'.
Ces trois musiciens vous feront découvrir à Bruxelles cette tradition brésilienne vibrante et intime, profondément enracinée dans la musique classique européenne et richement influencée par les rythmes africains. Le choro est une fusion captivante de virtuosité, de structure, de swing et d'improvisation, née au Brésil au 19ème siècle, des décennies avant l'émergence du jazz aux États-Unis.
