Documenting landscapes has long been a reason for artists to explore their country. While focusing on the roads, fields, and vistas rather than on buildings or figures, Pufall’s photographs acknowledge the presence and influence of humanity. Through our control of fire, agriculture, and technology we have become a shaper of, rather than just a figure in the landscape.
