Nature is at breaking point across the country, and Derbyshire is in urgent need of action. In this talk we will look at how Derbyshire Wildlife Trust (DWT) is approaching this: how they develop their strategy, what problems they face and how they overcome them. This will be an honest look at DWT’s strengths and limitations as an organisation locally and nationally.Dave Savage has worked for DWT across Derbyshire since 2006 delivering landscape scale conservation projects. As Landscape Recovery Manager Dave now oversees projects to get others to manage their land for nature, so developing a living landscape. His team also delivers nature reserve management in the Peaks, species recovery and river programmes and Dave is the Trust’s lead on strategic land acquisition.
