About this Event

Explore all things strange and odd about Colorado, from dinosaurs to DIA, with special attention on explorers, gold rushes, railroads, saloons, cemeteries, and the most bizarre and interesting people that make up our historical past. These and many other wonders will be highlighted by Tom Noel, aka “Dr. Colorado,” History Professor Emeritus at CU Denver.

Join us at the Highlands Ranch Mansion for a fun night of colorful and "color-odd" stories about our state.

  • Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with self-guided tours of the 131-year-old property available. The program will begin at 7 p.m.
  • Dr. Noel will be selling and signing some of his books before and after the presentation.
  • A cash bar will be available with beer, wine and a signature cocktail.
  • Light appetizers are included with each ticket.

Dr. Noel is the author or co-author of 56 books, and he earned his PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder. Noel was a longtime columnist for the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post and appeared for several years as “Dr. Colorado” on Channel 9. Appointed Colorado State Historian in 2018, Tom received the 2022 University Medal from the University of Colorado for outstanding contributions to our state.
