The Missouri State Museum's "Landing After Hours" program, is held the first Wednesday every other month at the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site,100 Jefferson Street. Join us in-person or via Facebook Live.
Doors open at 6:30 and the program starts at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building (100 Jefferson St.).
The program in December will be presented by Museum Interpreter Lucas Schwartze. The period shortly after the Louisiana Purchase was marked by large scale changes in the Mississippi Valley. The New Madrid Earthquakes contributed significantly to this upheaval in both a figurative and literal sense. But what did the people who lived through these events make of this upheaval? Join Missouri State Museum interpreter Lucas Schwartze for this program where we will explore the events of this significant earthquake and how it impacted the lives of early Missourians.
