About this Event
In the year of the 90th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War, join us for this special film screening of Land and Freedom, with an introduction by the film's director Ken Loach.
This screening is part of Counterfire's Revolution! Weekender on 11-12 April. The screening is included in your Revolution! ticket, so book this ticket if you want to come to the screening only.
Drinks and snacks will be available to purchase from the SOAS Bar.
Directed by legendary socialist filmmaker Ken Loach, BAFTA-nominated Land and Freedom follows the story of a communist from Liverpool who joins the International Brigades and travels to Spain to fight against fascism.
At a time of growing fascist organisation in Britain and beyond, this is a timely reminder of the struggles of the past and the lessons we can take from history into the battles we face today.
The screening is situated in the middle of a weekend of discussions on the political crises we face and how the left can organise. Join the whole weekend programme by booking here.
