Colin Cutler
Folk? Country? Blues? Rock and Roll? Sugar, vinegar, or spice? When Colin Cutler shows up with his hot pepper jam, it's all on the table.
Cutler is an award-winning North Carolina-based singer-songwriter, folk musician, poet, and storyteller toting a banjo and guitar. Whether solo or with his band, Hot Pepper Jam, he is a wide-ranging performer whose musical roots draw from the breadth of American folk music—from Appalachian oldtime to blues to gospel to country to rock’n’roll—to form what No Depression has described as “one magnificent tapestry of roots music.”
The 2022 Winner of the Susquehanna Folk Festival’s Emerging Artists Competition, the last few years have seen Cutler playing across the US and Canada, with appearances at Merlefest, Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival, the North Carolina Folk Festival, Antlers and Acorns Songwriters Festival, and shared shows with Dom Flemons, Emily Scott Robinson, and Buffalo Nichols.

Billie Feather
Billie Feather is a North Carolina-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, educator, and performer whose work bridges the worlds of folk, jazz, classical, country, and roots music. A versatile guitarist, banjoist, bassist, mandolinist, and vocalist, Billie has built a dynamic career performing across the United States and Europe in projects ranging from Appalachian string bands and honky-tonk groups to jazz ensembles and original songwriter collaborations with groups all over the world.
Originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Billie was raised among the musical traditions of both the Allegheny Mountains and North Carolina’s rich folk, blues, and jazz communities. She studied classical guitar performance at the prestigious University of North Carolina School of the Arts before expanding her musical language through jazz studies, arranging, recording engineering, and traditional American music. Billie later earned additional degrees from North Carolina Central University and returned to UNCSA for graduate work in Guitar Performance and Recording Engineering.
In addition to an active performance career, Billie is an experienced educator and guitar technician with over two decades in the music industry. She has taught guitar and popular music studies at University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Washington State University, and Meredith College, while also maintaining a private teaching studio and repair shop.
Whether performing original songs, jazz standards, old-time music, or genre-bending collaborations, Billie brings a deeply expressive and adventurous spirit to the stage. Critics have described her performances as “spectacular, athletic, and narrative and epic rather than simply a recreation of recorded work,” praising both her musicianship and commanding stage presence.
