SilverBack Trails Lamplighter 30 trail running night event
Starting and finishing at Goathland Village Hall you will visit 4 Triangulation Pillars, North, East, South and West, before heading back to Goathland Village Hall.
The event start and finish will be dictated by the Sundown and Sunup times for that day, 14/15 June. So it will be a true run through the night, dusk till dawn …
During the inaugural Lamplighter, this year, those taking part had plenty of stories to tell, involving waterlogged tracks, bogs, fog, Highland Cattle, detours, and shady goings on near one of the checkpoints, to name but few.
Come and run from sunset to sunrise and add your stories to make the Lamplighter Legend grow...
Entrants will register and collect numbers etc an hour before last light , then the event will begin when the Lamplighter appears, it will be up to you to be ready to go…
You will then have until the sun comes up above the horizon and the Lamplighter returns to get back to the village hall, but don’t despair you will still get a finishers memento if you beat the flag. As soon as the Lamplighter has snuffed out the lamp a flag will be raised at the village hall a little bit at a time, every 20 minutes, until it is at full mast….
Total tme circa 10 hrs.
All finishers will receive a Lamplighter medal.
