About this Event

Come join us for an outdoor Lammas seasonal gathering - to celebrate the Harvest of the Grain and the begining of rewards and achievements for all our hard works. Bring picnic food, drums and musical instruments, cushions to sit on, and ritual items to place on our communal altar.

Lammas..

(also known as 'Lughnasadh' stemming from the Gaelic God Lugh) is one of 8 seasonal festivals celebrated by modern Pagans. This is harvest time in the fields, where Corn is cut down and other such grain are harvested. Usually in ceremony, the Corn-King is symbolically cut down and honoured in the form of a home baked bread, and mother Earth / Earth Goddesses ) are given thanks for the harvests.

In this Gathering,

• We will be seated in a circle around a ground altar.. and enjoy the ceremony.. facilitated by few members of our ritual team.
• You can participate fully with consecrating one another, join in with element calls, a harvest pathworking, and toasting to your own hard work and achievements this year.
• Bring any seasonal poetry to share with the circle.
• drums, small musical instruments welcome. No electronic music . Only acoustic pls. that does not disturb wildlife or other park users nearby.

Mindset - important. Pls read.

This is a woodland event with a minimum 3hrs of activity. - gathering, ritual, social, pack down. We hold these in woods to connect with nature, unwind, and go deeper within for worship, magic then connect with people face to face.

Please avoid dropping in and out like it's business meeting, arriving late or going early... All that can break the magic circle and community energy we are building each time.

We work hard to write these rituals, prepare for weeks, arrive early to set up and facilitate. So please come join with open unhurried minds, ground and centre, and enjoy the magic and community.

• Many people have discovered us first, grown in experience and confidence, then gone on to other groups or started their own ritual events and groups..! Our facilitators have been doing this for 30 years. We hope this inspires trust and confidence in our work.

Meeting point: 3.45pm - 4pm.

• We now meet at 'Queens woods cafe' (42 Muswell Hill Rd, London N10 3JP) .
• Organiser will come to collect you and walk you (5minutes) to the exact ritual spot in the woods.
• No late comers please. This delays ritual and upsets other people when organisers have tried to wait for late arrivals and try giving direction. We end up with bad reviews as a result. so please be on time.

What to wear

Please wear sensible cloths/ coats/ rain proof/ boots etc!! It may start out sunny and hot but it gets cold quickly.. There'll be midges and insects.. so cover up ankles with socks.. wear trainers or boots...(No slippers).

Woodland safety --

If you feel unwell (even if it's just cough/ cold) please stay at home.

Please observe Park Rules at all times.

Food & Drinks for Social ---

Please bring food & drinks to share (optional)... example: bread, butter, pitta bread, cheese, small picnic food, soft drinks, wine.

Tidying up: Help us keep woods tidy . Please take any rubbish out to bins on pavements.

About Wicca:

About London Woodland Witches (LWW).

Formally started in 2014, woodland witches draws several of our older groups together.. all founded by Mani (Hern's Tribe, est 2004; Tamesa London Circle, est 2006; Wicca rituals, est 2001, Eco/ Gaian rituals). LWW holds mostly outdoor rituals & pagan socials in Queens woods, Richmond, Wimbledon, Thames, Croydon, Trent Park.

About Mani (facilitator) :

Mani is an initiated Witch & Gardnerian High Priest, starting his wiccan path in mid 90's by studying under Craft elders Dr.Vivianne Crowley & Chris Crowley. Mani has been running private Covens & public rituals since 2001. ` Mani has a Physics B.Sc degree, training in Transpersonal Psychology & counselling, and blends some Hindu & Shamanic practices into pagan rituals.
