About the Lammas Celebration
The wheel of the year is turning, and we are turning with it.
Lammas — also known as Lughnasadh — marks the sacred midpoint between the Summer Solstice and the Fall Equinox. It is the festival of the first harvest, when the grain is cut, the first bread is baked, and communities gather to give thanks for the abundance the earth has provided. Across the ancient Celtic world, this was a time of feasting, games, gratitude, and the sacred breaking of bread — honoring the heart and pulse of the crops, the generosity of the land, and the bonds of community that sustain us all.
At the height of summer's golden light, Lammas reminds us to pause and receive: to witness what has grown from the seeds we planted in spring, to share the fruits of our labor, and to celebrate the abundance of nature together.
This gathering continues our series of Mystical Quarter Seasons & Seasonal Shift Celebrations at Karma 3.0 — a living community tradition we are weaving into the rhythm of the year. As we attune ourselves to nature's sacred cycles, these gatherings become an anchor — a place to pause, reconnect, and mark the turning of the wheel together. Bring a Loaf to Share ~ The First Harvest Feast
Lammas carries the ancient tradition of the community meal — the sharing and breaking of bread baked from the first harvest. We invite you to bake or bring a loaf of bread or a grain dish to share with the community. Whether it's a homemade sourdough, cornbread, a favorite grain salad, or a loaf from your local bakery, your offering becomes part of our shared harvest table — honoring community, the heart and pulse of the crops, and the abundance of nature.
Schedule of Events
12:00 PM ~ Opening Ceremony ~ We open with a brief sacred ceremony to honor the season, give thanks to the earth for the first harvest, and call in the blessings of Lammas.
12:30–3:00 PM ~ Breaking of the Bread, Art, Music, Food & Celebration~ Join us for the heart of the celebration — the community feast and sacred breaking of bread from the first harvest. We'll gather around the shared table, honor the abundance each person brings, and feast together in gratitude.
Throughout the Afternoon ~ Music, Community & Merriment
Live music, great conversation, and the warm, vibrant energy of the Karma community filling the space with love and laughter.
