Welcome to our second round of courses in the Brazilian dance Lambada Zouk autumn 2024!

LAMBADA is a dance style in Brazilian zouk, a dance that is gaining popularity worldwide. Lambada can be danced to slower music as well as faster. The characteristics of Lambada are smooth circular movements, flow and smoothness in the dance, head movements (advanced level) and lots of alegria (joy)! Welcome to join us in the world of pure Brazilian joy with a lot of dance, fun, laughter, and a lot of inspirational dances.

*BEGINNERS COURSE*
The beginners course is an introduction to Lambada where you will learn the fundamentals of the dance. We work through not only the basic steps, turns and movements of the dance, but also focus on technique and connection. No head movements are taught in the beginner’s course, as it is crucial to understand the basic technique, which can help you later on to advance in the movements and also to develop skills in related dances such as traditional Zouk, West Coast Swing and not least Bachata. The beginners course we teach an” all-around”- style with focus on the basics, frame and rhythm.
*INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED COURSE*
In this course we work through more advanced movements and variations of the style within Lambada, such as bamboleo, cambrés and boneca. We work more in detail with the flow of the movements and show you creative variations of them. You will also get a deeper knowledge of the characteristiques of Lambazouk, but also differences in styles. A minimum of one year regular dancing/courses is required to attend this course and you need to know basic movements as: basic step, viradinha, soltinho, boomerang, invertido, piao. We adopt the course to the needs of the students and work on techniques that we are needed for the group to develop.

Brazouka Stockholm is the oldest dance school in Stockholm specialized in the Brazilian couple dance Lambada Zouk. Our emphasize is on giving you high quality on the teaching and learning and we are strongly committed on giving all our students a good basic, frame, technique and understanding of the rhythm. The school started offering regular classes back in 2008 and has since then been organizing various Zouk events, inviting well-renowned guest teachers from all over the world. Brazouka Stockholm is also the founder of the Zouk evenings in Vasaparken during summertime. Brazouka Stockholm is the first Swedish dance school represented on Brazilian Congresses, lately London Zoukfest 2018, 2019 and Brazilian Dance Holidays in Spain 2019!
