I'll be back... Said Lambada ? ? ?. Come and experience the mother dance of Brazilian Zouk. From Lambada was where it all began. Through Lamabda, the Brazilian Zouk community is embracing a resurgence of new ideas through founding techniques. Come and explore this lost art with us and expand your Zouk vocabulary in a huge and exciting new way. We welcome you, as we also welcome our two new lovely, talented and experienced Instructors Kama Toula and Peter Wilkin~
Peter fell in love with lambada in 2016 when he attended Berg's congress in Porto Seguro, Brazil, in 2016. Since then, he has trained extensively in Argentina, Brazil, and the United States with some of the world's leading lambada dancers. In 2019 he taught workshops with Sergio Uribe at the New York City Zouk Congress. Peter has established a lambada community in Boston and has taught workshops and classes in Atlanta and Sydney. Passionate about lambada, Peter hopes to share his love of the dance with others worldwide.
Kama discovered Brazilian dance in 2009 when she visited Brazil to perform in the famous Rio carnival and fell in love with samba no pé. After this she decided to pack up and move to follow her passion for Brazilian dance and culture. She lived in Rio de Janeiro from 2011-2016 and during this time she spent 4 years studying traditional Brazilian zouk under masters Renata Peçanha and Jorge Peres, as well as taking numerous workshops in other styles with professionals. Her teaching journey begun in 2014 when she started teaching weekly zouk classes in Rio, she then partnered up with neo zouk founder Mafie Zouker and spent a year teaching around Brazil with him. Since then Kama has taught at various workshops and congresses in Brazil and Australia including Bergs Congress Porto Seguro, Rio Zouk Congress, Zouk Day São Paolo, Brazouky Melbourne, Brisbane Zouk Congress and Sydney Zouk Congress. In 2020 Kama discovered lambada, the root dance of Brazilian zouk, and begun taking classes online during lockdown with Ryel and Jessica Lamdon. Since then, she has continued studying with various professionals and is now excited to share her knowledge and grow the scene in Australia.
