Join us for a 90-minute walking tour led by renowned local historian Richard Collins, exploring the rich history and evolving stories of the surrounding area.
Beginning at the Small Arms Inspection Building, this guided walk will take you on a captivating journey through the landscape, including Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area, uncovering layers of local history, heritage, and place along the way before returning to the starting point.
This is a great opportunity to spend time outdoors, connect with others, and gain a deeper understanding of the area through the lens of storytelling and history.
The walking tour will run if there is light rain, we encourage you to bring an umbrella or raincoat in the event the forecast is indicating precipitation.
This event is open to all ages, however children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
About the Facilitator: In his youth Richard was inspired by a dedicated high school history teacher with a need to learn about the past, and to understand how history can be a compass to set a true course for future generations. Retiring in 2022, after 20 years as a tour guide at Mississauga’s two historic house museums, Richard now passes on his passion for the past through leading fun and informative historic tours for all ages and abilities.
