Rooftop Garden (Rain Backup- Exhibition Hall)
Capoeira is a 500-year Afro-Brazilian Martial Art that combines elements of self-defense, dance and acrobatic movements with the pulsating rhythm of live music. Capoeira was created in Brazil and became an important tool in the enslaved African and Indigenous peoples' fight for survival and ultimately, their freedom. Today it continues to be an empowering and community-centered practice that spans the globe. Come enjoy a mini-performance and then join us to learn some of the movements and songs!
For those programs held on the Rooftop, be sure to bring water bottles and sunscreen. There is limited shade on the rooftop.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors. Visit the Lakeside Kids! page on Monona Terrace’s website or call 608.261.4000 for program location information.
