In the early 19th century, music written specifically for the assortment of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn was codified into the chamber music tradition, opening the door for a new set of compositions to be added to the canon of wind repertoire. As the wind quintet has continued to evolve over the centuries, so has its repertoire. In this concert curated by Loki Karuna, Lakes Area Music Festival artistic advisor, members of the Minnesota Orchestra will showcase works that are representative of the contemporary canon of works for wind quintet.Event Details
