The singer, composer, pianist, and performance researcher Maria Coma, with roots in Catalonia and Mallorca, will be playing in Stockholm as part of her Vocal Roots tour (Foehn Records, 2024)
on Sunday, August 24, 2025, for a concert at the new Emerge Lakefront project.
Maria Coma creates, live on stage, an emotional and performative space where piano, voice, pedals, and vocal polyphony come together to shape an experience that is both intimate and
cathartic. Each song opens up a richly nuanced sound world in which the artist shares her vulnerability in every note, transforming the performance into an honest and heartfelt experience.
Vocal Roots is the result of a deep dive into vocal and bodily practice, a sonic journey centered on the human voice as the main instrument. The entire album was composed and recorded exclusively with her voice and body, building a bridge between singer-songwriter tradition, vocal polyphony, and experimental creation.
A unique and sensorial concert where she performs pieces from Vocal Roots as well as from previous works, with a few surprises. A space that invites the audience to step into the songs with her.
