Join us around the fire on Saturday, February 7, for an evening of rhythm, connection and community at the Lake Claire Community's next monthly drum and dance circle. Since 1991, this is the oldest active drum circle in the Atlanta area.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

The circle starts in the evening at 8:00pm and lasts until 11:00pm, in the outdoor amphitheater, with the majority of late arrivals flowing in around 8:45-9:15pm.

All percussion and rhythm instruments are welcomed as are all experience levels. Singers are also welcomed and encouraged.

An instrument sharing area is designated with a picnic blanket on one of the amphitheater benches. Please return borrowed instruments as you finish with them and keep up with your own as you leave the circle.

Storytellers are also encouraged. Stories must be family friendly and open to musical support from the circle.

Dancers may use the general area of the sand circle.

Flow artists may use the stage or the flow circle on the hill behind the amphitheater.

Fire performers must have both a spotter and fire blanket with them. They must also check in with Rusty Gilbert, the fire keeper, upon arrival before performing. Please wait until 9:15pm to perform for maximum audience exposure.

Family friendly costuming welcomed.

If you find yourself overstimulated and need to take a moment, a designated Quiet Zone is nearby on the path beyond the circle. There'll be a table lit with lanterns and a gazebo with common decompression items.

As always, this is a community event. Everyone is welcomed whether they choose to take part in co-creating the evening's magic -or- watch it be created while making friends around the fire.

The land trust is 1.5 miles from Little Five Points, located at 270 Arizona Ave NE.

Free parking is available at the Marta Edgewood-Candler Park Station at 1422 DeKalb Ave NE (0.7 miles). After unloading, please reserve street parking for residents to park at their homes and for people in our community with mobility issues.

Marta stops running at 1:00am on weekends. Boarding Marta after the circle by midnight is advised.

A bicycle parking rack is available between the front entrance and amphitheater.

Out of respect for our neighbors, please keep voices low as you leave the venue after the circle. No audible instruments after 11:00pm.

Photography and video permitted if camera light and flash is off. Please ask permission before taking photo or video with identifiable faces.

$5 donation requested at the land trust's gate. Mobile pay option available via Venmo or PayPal.

Weather updates will be posted between 2:00-3:00pm the day of the circle. This is so current weather radars of the drum circle area can be reviewed.
